Mathew Milat Sentenced 30 Years Behind Bars

The teenage relative of serial killer Ivan Milat will spend the next 30 years behind bars for the "cold blooded killing" of his childhood friend.

19 year old Mathew Milat slayed 17 year old David Auchterlonie's to death, with an axe in the Belangalo state forest 18 months ago

Co-accused Cohen Klein who recorded the murder on his ph has been jailed for 22 years

The Supreme court was packed with David's family, as well as members of the Milat family who came to hear the sentence.

David's grandmother Sandy says Mathew Milat is cold blooded and callus. The Sentence is bitter sweet,although its a long time it will not bring her Grandson back

This Sunday Ride The Rails Like The Good Old Days

Southern Highlands residents who dont mind a bit of nostalgia are being urged to join a trip in some historic rail carriages this weekend. Three trips are being organised this Sunday from Goulburn to Medway Junction near Marulan. There will be departures from Goulburn at 9.30, 11 and 2, marking 144 years since rail arrived on the southern tablelands. It was initially planned to work the services with steam locos, but because of lower than expected bookings, it is now planned to use two heritage diesel locomotives. Woman Drives Off –Crashes Into Car Containing Kids

A woman who police claim was under the influence of alcohol has been charged after ploughing into a parked car with three children in it as well as crashing into a tree. Police allege after drinking a large amount of alcohol the 54 year old got behind the wheel of her car and began driving up Fitzroy Street in Goulburn around 5pm on Saturday. Officers say the woman, whose driving was clearly affected at the time, then collided with a parked sedan, which had three children in the rear seat, and drove off. Luckily the children in... Thieves Go On Crime Spree North Of Mittagong

Police are puzzled as to why thieves have made a series of concerted raids on the contents of motor vehicles in a small town north of Mittagong. Under the cover of darkness, and in the space of one night at Yerrinbool, almost 20 vehicles, cars, four wheel drives and trucks have been broken into. Police say most of the vehicles were unlocked, and items taken have include wallets, tools and other valuables.
