Will More Speed and Red Light Cameras Reduce the Road Toll

THE number of mobile speed and red light cameras across NSW will be drastically increased, but there will be more signs warning drivers of the devices. NSW Roads Minister Duncan Gay has announced the number of mobile speed cameras would increase from six to 45 vehicles, and the number of red light cameras from 91 to 200 locations. Point-to-point cameras will also patrol 24 stretches of road, up from 21 while fixed speed cameras would be cut from 172 to 139.

The Government says the money raised from speed and other cameras will be put into a new Community Road Safety Fund, rather than into consolidated revenue but, you have to ask will it reduce the road toll? If they want to reduce deaths more visible police are needed. Ask yourself what do you when you are driving when suddenly you see a police car?

How Long Do You Have To Wait To See Your GP?

One in four Australians are waiting more than 24 hours for an urgent appointment with a GP, and even more face an "unacceptable" wait for a GP. And in the last three years, the number of people finding it difficult to see a GP has leapt 53 per cent according to a Council of Australian Governments Reform Council report released yesterday. Return of Master Chef

Masterchef Australia is set to go to war against some of Australia's highest rating TV shows when it returns in just over one week's time. Channel 10 has announced that the fifth season of its hit cooking show will premiere on Sunday June 2 at 7.30pm with a 90-minute episode. MasterChef Australia will continue on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7.30pm in the first week and expand to Thursdays, with MasterClass episodes, in week two. Ford to Cut 1,500 Jobs

Ford Australia has been given $1.1 billion in state and Federal Government assistance since 2000. Over the same period, Ford says it has invested $3.3 billion in design and engineering of future models. Today came the news that Ford will close its Broadmeadows car factory and Geelong engine plant in October 2016, a move that will cost at least 1500 people their jobs.
