Lindy Chamberlain: Is it time for her apology?

Last night, A Current Affair brought Lindy Chamberlain back to Uluru, back to the night her 9-week old child Azaria Chamberlain disappeared, suspected taken by a dingo.

Watching Lindy, you can’t help but wonder what happened that night. That’s the thing though, we’ll never know, so what gives us the right to judge?

They replayed talkback calls from the 80’s last night, with Doris from Deewhy and her cronies calling her a ‘calculated, cold-blooded killer’.

When you read the horrifying bungles of the NT police, bogus witnesses and a ludicrous trial, it makes you wonder how this case ever came to trial in the first place.

Lindy Chamberlain deserves an apology. A sorry for the case that destroyed her life through an inept system that should’ve served justice better. You see, you and I don’t know the answer and while there are some that regard Lindy as guilty, most of us know it also denied Lindy the chance to clear her name.

A sorry situation indeed.
