Thank you Davy Jones

Friday, 02 March 2012 04:18

davyjones2 What a way to be remembered. Davy Jones has been held in high regard yesterday for his role in the development of a generation, alongside his Monkees buddies.

His untimely death at 66 caused an outpouring of grief yesterday across the world. For Davy Jones was a man of great integrity but an enormous sense of fun. He survived being ridiculed as a ‘pre-fabricated’ band with the Monkees, worked hard through the 60’s and 70’s in theatre and music, and of course, was with the Monkees in one form or another over four decades. He was even a good enough sport to go in the send up of ‘The Brady Bunch movie’ in 1997 and help us all relive a happier and far more innocent time in music.

It was great to hear listener memories of the Monkees, and how people enjoyed their rebellion and sense of fun.

A loss far too soon. Vale Davy Jones.
