The NSW Government is committing another $50 million dollars for the Picton Bypass.
It brings the total spend for the project to $65 million dollars.
The funding will be spent on strategic land acquisition of the preferred corridor which has been identified following extensive community consultation.
Wollondilly MP Mr. Smith said the bypass once completed will not only take traffic away from the centre of Picton, it will provide an alternative route for residential and emergency service vehicles during flood and bushfires.
“When the project is completed, it will also provide an alternate option for heavy vehicles by linking Thirlmere and Tahmoor with the Hume Motorway via Picton Road.
