Shoalhaven Riverwatch has had another very successful Clean Up Australia working bee at Broughton Creek Boat ramp, Pig Island and Numbaa.
Four Shoalhaven Council staff members were among those who took part.
Shoalhaven Riverwatch spokesperson John tate said, “Unfortunately, the Broughton Creek Boat ramp area is being used as a dumping ground. We collected 12 dumped old car tyres.”
“Surprisingly, the amount of debris along the riverbanks was less than in previous years.
“Not sure if this is due to all the recent floods or the community being careful not to pollute our waterways.” Mr Tate said.
