Local GP’s are reporting an increase in the number of flu cases in the Southern Highlands.
Free flu vaccines are available for the following risk groups:
* Children aged six months to under five years of age
* People with serious health conditions
* People aged 65 years and over
* Pregnant women
* Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over

Chair of the Southern Highlands Division of General Practice Dr. Vince Roche said it’s better to be safe than sorry.
“We’re never surprised when we see elderly people catching the flu,
“But we’re actually seeing plenty of children getting it, and that can be distressing,”Dr. Roche said.
