Wingecarribee Shire Council has announced the appointment of two new Directors to its Executive Team, following a competitive recruitment process.
Mr. Michael McCabe brings a wealth of local government experience to the role of Director Communities and Place. He currently holds the Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services role at the District Council of Mount Remarkable (SA) and was previously the Director City Futures at Bayside Council.
Mr McCabe has extensive experience in planning, property, asset management and development services and will officially commence his role on July 1 2024.
Ms. Shelley Jones joins as the Director Corporate Strategy and Resourcing.
Ms. Jones is a seasoned local government professional with a strong track record in corporate strategy, finance, and human resources.
Ms Jones has held Director roles at both Snowy Valley and Edward River Council’s and will begin her role on August 5, 2024.
“We are fortunate to have these two exceptional individuals join our Executive Team,” said Wingecarribee Shire Council General Manager, Lisa Miscamble.
“Their extensive industry expertise will be a valuable asset, and I am confident that together we will continue to drive Wingecarribee Shire Council’s success and deliver positive outcomes for
the community.”
As part of the recruitment process, interviews were conducted by a Panel comprised of industry experts, including Mr. Gareth Broadrick, from Capstone Recruitment who offered his services pro-bono, Anthony McMahon, CEO Bega Valley Shire Council and Lisa Miscamble, General Manager Wingecarribee Shire Council.
The appointments were announced at the Extraordinary Meeting of Council on May 29, 2024, by the General Manager, after consultation with the Council’s Administrator, Mr. Viv May.
