An elderly man has escaped injury after a house fire at North Nowra yesterday (Wednesday 17 July 2024).
Shortly after 5pm, emergency services were called to a home on McMahons Road, North Nowra, following reports of a fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews using breathing gear and thermal imaging searched the home and extinguished the blaze, however the home was extensively damaged.
NSW Fire and Rescue Shoalhaven Station Officer Ian Walters said the elderly man, who was being supported by neighbours when they arrived at the scene, was the only occupant of the house.
Officers attached to South Coast Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
