South Coast Sings – Goes Latin
A Katandra A Cappella fundraising event. South Coast Sings ~ goes Latin ! Saturday June 29th, Kiama Pavilion. Music Workshops ~ 9:30 am – 4:30 pm, Public Concert 3:30 pm. South Coast Sings ~ goes Latin! is a chance for singers of all ages and vocal experience to enjoy workshops exploring Latin Songs and Dance, Music Theatre and Latin Jazz styles. Sing Out! Is a workshop especially for newer singers and those who have not sung before but always wanted to.
Katandra’s musical director, Antoinette Raynal comments, “For our 3rd South Coast Sings we are again excited to have the expertise of inspiring musicians such as: Trish Delaney -Brown ~ founding member of ‘The Idea of North’. Kylie Morgan ~ Choir of Southern Lights, Kate Whitworth ~ The Flame Tree Project. Andrew Yeo ~ Cuban Passion Dance and Jenny Asquith ~ The Argentinian Tango. And yes, we’re dancing too! After all, when singing, the musical energy has to travel from your toes right up to your vocal cords!”.
Members of the public are warmly invited to attend the South Coast Sings Goes Latin Concert with our feature choirs and guest performers: the ‘Lorenzo Y Su Swing’ Quintet. Enjoy a Finale of combined choirs and workshop participants. Doors open at 3:15 pm (Concert Tickets also available at the door).
Workshops and Concert ~ $65 pp. and $30 for Students. Afternoon Concert only ~ $20 and $15 concession. Children under 12 free.
Please note, All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Children’s Medical Research Institute. The CMRI began as a support group of Mothers in Gerringong who worked with paediatric specialists in the Royal Price Albert Hospital Sydney to raise funds for one of their friends’ children and consequently, went on to support children throughout NSW. 65 years later their work continues. Jeans for Genes Day is one of their many fundraising endeavor’s.
