A man will face court today after being charged over alleged firearm offences at Tahmoor
About 7.30pm Wednesday, a 45-year-old man went to a home on Hunter Street, to speak to the resident regarding a tenancy dispute.
An argument followed and it’s alleged a shot was fired from inside the home before the man was threatened with a firearm.
Officers from Camden Police Area Command rushed to the scene and were assisted by the Public Order Riot Squad
The occupant, a 39-year-old man, surrendered to police without incident.
He was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station.
A crime scene was established at the home with police taking away two sawn off .22 calibre rifles and ammunition.
It will be further alleged these items were not secured in an approved storage safe.
The man was charged with five offences including:
*fire firearm manner likely injure persons/property,
*two counts of possess shortened firearm (not pistol) without authority,
*possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and
not keep firearm safely – not pistol/prohibited firearm.
*He was refused bail to appear at Picton Local Court today (Thursday 24 August 2023), where he was remanded in custody to reappear at the same court on Wednesday 13 September 2023.
