The Wingecarribee Shire Council has invited all interested parties to attend a public hearing this Thursday to learn more about what land is to be categorised as bushland through Council’s Draft Plan of Management for Natural Areas.

The Plan of Management is currently on public exhibition for 42 days.

Residents have until Tuesday 2 July 2024 to have their say and provide feedback via the online survey form.

This Plan of Management (POM) provides the overarching framework for the use and management of our bushland reserves for the next 10 years, with a review period at least every five years.

Community land categorised as Natural Area (Bushland and Watercourse) is incredibly important for flora and fauna conservation, biodiversity and passive recreation.

The POM will guide detailed annual work plans for Bushcare and Rivercare activities, coordinated by the Bushland Services team, with input from dedicated volunteers who work to restore our natural areas.

The Public Hearing is being held to discuss the land identified for categorisation as Bushland and/or Watercourse.

It will be an excellent opportunity to learn what land is to be categorised and how this selection process was completed.
