Wingecarribee Shire Council is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Range Road Reconstruction Project in Glenquarry.
The project addressed a 2.9-kilometre section of Range Road, stretching north from Tourist Road towards Mittagong.
“This project significantly improves the safety and functionality of a vital local road,” said Karin Targa, Wingecarribee Shire Council Director of Service and Project Delivery.
“The previous road surface was in poor condition, particularly after recent heavy rain events.
This pavement reconstruction and spray seal ensures a durable, smoother and safer driving experience for all users.”
The project upgrades deliver a multi-faceted improvement for Range Road. The road surface itself has been enhanced with better drainage systems, leading to improved water quality runoff.
Pavement reconstruction with lime stabilisations has been undertaken and a durable spray sealing surface has been laid, extending the road’s lifespan.
Safety features have been upgraded with new signage, guardrails, and wider shoulders for increased driver confidence.
Environmental considerations were also addressed through tree planting, grass seeding, and slope protection measures.
The project commenced in March 2023 and concluded in June 2024.
The total cost of the project was approximately $4.9 million, with funding coming from a combination of
sources.
