The speed limit along Kangaloon Road and Sheepwash Road at Glenquarry will be reduced from next month.
From Friday September 1, the speed limit will drop from 100 km/h to 80 km/h from Tourist Road to 350 metres north of the rail level crossing at Calwalla.
A Transport for NSW Spokesperson says a review was conducted in response to a request from community to meet safer driving conditions in an area with many concealed driveways.
“The review of this speed zone was initiated in response to a request from community to meet safer driving conditions in an area with many concealed driveways,” the spokesperson said.
“The reduced speed limit will also help to reduce the risk of crashes at the rail level crossing in Calwalla, in line with the Transport for NSW Speed Limit on Approach to Active Level Crossing Policy.”
Message boards will be onsite one week before and two weeks following the speed zone reduction, to notify motorists of the changed speed limit.
