A number of Rural Fire Service members from the Southern Highlands have been recognised for their bravery and commitment as part of St. Florian’s Day today.
District Manager Daniel Osborne said that includes six volunteers from the Buxton brigade who attended last year’s horrific crash that killed five young people.
“Any incident that involves fatalities or serious injury is absolutely traumatic for our members to go through,
“But when it’s in a small community, it has a much more profound effect.
And several aviation members from the Southern Highlands were also recognised for their work during the floods.
