Greyhound Racing NSW has unveiled the newly upgraded trial track at Thirlmere.
The $600,000 upgrade includes track resurfacing and new perimeter fencing and padding.
Wollondilly MP Nathaniel Smith who’s also the co-chair of the NSW Parliamentary Friends Of Greyhounds group believes it’s money well spent.
“The NSW Government put in up to $278,000 and Greyhound NSW matched it,
“So about $600,000 all up,”Mr. Smith said.
The venue will enable owners to trial their racing dogs and Greyhound Racing NSW Chief Executive Officer Mr Rob Macaulay said it’s great for the sport locally.
“It’s brilliant to see a whole lot of very happy greyhound owners and trainers here,
“They’re thrilled to be getting the very safest infrastructure,”Mr. Macaulay said.
