Former Labor Minister John Kerin has been remembered at a state funeral at Old Parliament House today.
The 85 year old attended Bowral High School and Hurlstone Agricultural High School.
He then went on to work as a poultry farmer.

Mr. Kerin was elected to the seat of Macarthur at the 1972 election and then the seat of Werriwa at the 1978 by-election, following the retirement of Gough Whitlam.
He served as Minister for Primary Industries and Energy, Transport and Communications and Trade and Overseas development.
He also had a short stint as Treasurer under Bob Hawke.
