Yerrinbool residents have been urged to attend the Yerrinbool Community Resilient Towns Initiative Big Map Session on Saturday 23 November, from 10am to 4pm, to help prepare for disaster and build resilience for the future.
The FREE community event, held at Yerrinbool Community Hall (45 Everest Street), utilises a Big Map visual tool to help the community identify potential risks, hazards, and strengths. Wingecarribee Shire Council will host the session in partnership with
Disaster Relief Australia (DRA) and NSW Reconstruction Authority.
Wingecarribee Mayor Jesse Fitzpatrick encouraged residents to get involved to help build a stronger and more resilient Yerrinbool.
“The collaborative workshop offers a unique opportunity to engage with your community, identify local risks, and develop practical solutions to enhance community preparedness,” said Mayor Fitzpatrick.
“Previous Big Map events, held at Wingello and Balmoral, were highly successful with attending community members taking away valuable information on how to keep themselves, their families and neighbours safe during a disaster,” he said.
