Bob Proudfoot five point plan for re-election

Former Shoalhaven and Wollongong Councillor Bob Proudfoot will be seeking Labor pre-selection for Mayor and Ward 2 Councillor at the Shoalhaven City Council Local Government Election in September 2024.

Mr Proudfoot who last served on Shoalhaven Council between 2016 and 2021 said he made the decision to re-enter local government after requests from residents and members of the Labor Party.

Mr Proudfoot said, ” I have a five point plan to fix the Shoalhaven.”

A priority will be to fix Council’s dwindling FINANCES by eliminating waste, increasing revenues and reigning in unaffordable projects.

Ensure that Council lives within its means and restricts rates increases to an affordable level that is suitable to the community and give the community a much more significant voice regarding council’s revenues and expenditures by forming a people’s review body.

Part two of the plan is to fix Shoalhaven’s crumbling roads and dangerous potholes by allocating greater resources to the problem.

A third priority is to fix the affordable HOUSING crisis by working with the State Government on efficient measures to release environmentally suitable land for housing.

Mr Proudfoot also intends on focusing on Tourism and fix the fear caused by the likelihood of further DISASTERS occurring in the Shoalhaven with continuing and recurring climate change resilience education programmes.
